When he performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy, his family and siblings wanted him to play in the IPL as soon as possible. He played for the Bengal cricket team in First Class and List-A.
He made his professional List-A debut in the year 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 5th February 2018.
In December 2017, he scored a double century against Gujarat in the year 2017-18 Ranji Trophy First Class.
